The role in a nutshell:
Age UK Bury is looking for a DIY enthusiast with a few hours to spare each week to support our Handyperson Service.What will you be doing?
> fitting handrails
> Chatting with people!
How would you be supported in this role?
> Training provided, including
- Health & Safety
- Credit Card payments
- Age UK Bury Policies
> Ongoing support & supervision by service managers
> Invited to volunteering events and social events arranged by Age UK Bury
Why do we need volunteers in this role?
We work closely with our Home From Hospital Service and the Local Council to fix key safes, hand rails and grab rails for our clients.
Installs and repairs covering areas in Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Prestwich, Radcliffe and Whitefield.
Additional information:
Our Handyperson undertakes jobs Monday to Friday.
Our current volunteers respond to jobs on demand, it varies throughout the week and throughout the year!
Volunteer expenses for travel (car mileage) are reimbursed as per our Volunteer Expenses Policy.
We host an annual thank you event for all staff and volunteers.
