South Kent Coast - Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver or Runner

The role in a nutshell:

We're looking for friendly volunteers to help deliver Meals on Wheels to older people in Folkstone or Deal. 

What will you be doing?

If you choose to be a driver, you will be using your own vehicle to deliver Meals on Wheels to older people in our local community. If you choose to be a runner, you will be supporting a driver to deliver those meals to older people in either Folkestone or Deal. 

How would you be supported in this role?

In addition to the training we provide, we also ensure you have a direct line of contact with the Meals on Wheels service manager and other volunteers to share your experiences and help more in the community.

Why do we need volunteers in this role?

Our charity has been delivering this service in our local community for many years, in recent times the needs in the community have grown and we need more drivers and runners to meet this need, so we can feed more older people in Folkestone and Deal.

Additional information:

The service operates between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm, 7 days of the week. 
You could commit to a regular shift each week, or pick up a shift as and when it suits you. 

What skills, interests or experience might be helpful in this role?

For a driver, a driving license and car would be useful! 
For both the driver and the runner, you'll be the friendly face of the service, offering reassurance to the people we support.
