The role in a nutshell:
We're looking for a friendly, proactive volunteer for our Memory Matters group.What will you be doing?
You will offer friendly, practical support during sessions, helping people feel comfortable and involved. This may include chatting, encouraging participation and offering one‑to‑one reassurance.
How would you be supported in this role?
You will be supported by experienced staff during every session, with clear guidance on your role and what to expect. Training and ongoing support will be provided, and there will always be someone to ask if you need help.
Why do we need volunteers in this role?
The group is run by experienced staff, with volunteers providing extra help and friendly support to ensure everyone feels included during the sessions. The group runs on a Wednesday 9.30am-2.30pm.
What skills, interests or experience might be helpful in this role?
A friendly, patient approach and good listening skills are helpful, along with an interest in supporting people living with dementia or memory loss. Previous experience is welcome but not essential, as full guidance and support will be provided.
