The role in a nutshell:

To help plan and deliver a schedule of social activities throughout Cumberland and Eden, through Age UK North Cumbria and/or partner organisations.

What will you be doing?

To establish, maintain and develop relationships with clients attending activities.

- To be involved with the planning and implementation of activities, i.e., games, quizzes etc.

- To adhere to all policies and procedures of Age UK North Cumbria including Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Confidentiality, and Lone working.

- Participating in catch-ups and support sessions as required.

- Working as part of a team and with other Age UK North Cumbria staff and volunteers.

How would you be supported in this role?

> Training provided, including

- Health & Safety

- Age UK North Cumbria Policies

 

> Ongoing support & supervision by service managers

 

> Invited to volunteering events and social events arranged by Age UK North Cumbria.

Why do we need volunteers in this role?

Our volunteers deliver our services for older people within Cumberland and Eden, volunteers are essential for providing great social experiences for our community, that enrich clients and volunteers themselves. 

Additional information:

This role will require an Enhanced DBS.

A liking for and empathy with older people.

- Ability to work as part of a team.

- Good listening and communication skills.

- Good timekeeping skills.

- Reliability and trustworthiness.

- An interest in developing activities for older people.

- An understanding of the need for confidentiality.
