The role in a nutshell:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Volunteer Driver to support our retail shops by providing essential transportation services.

What will you be doing?

• Transportation of Goods: Safely transport goods and supplies between our retail shops, warehouse, and other locations as needed. This includes loading and unloading items, ensuring they are securely stowed during transit 

• Timely Deliveries: Ensure timely delivery of goods, maintaining a schedule and adhering to agreed delivery times 

• Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous service to all customers and staff, acting as a representative of our Charity and maintaining a positive image 

• Compliance: Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational policies, including, lone working, health and safety regulations

How would you be supported in this role?

• We will make sure that you receive appropriate training for the role, and that you have the support of a member of staff

As part of the recruitment process, this role is subject to the provision of two satisfactory references.

What skills, interests or experience might be helpful in this role?

• Valid UK driving licence, with a clean driving record 

• Experience in driving a van or similar vehicle is preferred 

• Good physical health, capable of lifting and carrying items 

• Excellent time management and organisational skills 

• Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable manner 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to the role 

• A positive attitude and willingness to support the charity’s mission
