The role in a nutshell:

To be part of the Board which is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of Age UK Leeds, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals.

How would you be supported in this role?

The position of a Trustee is an unpaid role. However, the charity will reimburse reasonable expenses incurred by the Trustee in the course of their duties

Why do we need volunteers in this role?

 

To determine the overall direction and development of Age UK Leeds through good governance and clear strategic planning.

 

To ensure that Age UK Leeds and its representative’s operate within the legal and regulatory framework of the sector and in line with the organisation’s governing document

 

To act as guardians of the charity’s assets, both tangible and intangible, including oversight of budgets, financial performance and the charity’s investments taking all due care over their security, deployment and proper application

 

To uphold the duty of trust invested in the position, undertaking such duties in a way that adds to public confidence and trust in Age UK Leeds

 

To take appropriate professional advice in all matters where there may be material risk to Age UK Leeds, or where the Trustees may be in breach of their duties. This course of action will ensure the obligation to exercise the duty of care.

 

To avoid personal conflict of interest.
