The role in a nutshell:
Lead a welcoming CARIB Club group, plan activities, support members, ensure safety, celebrate Caribbean culture, and build community with training provided.What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and run activities that support the aims of the CARIB Club
- Work directly with group members, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience
- Welcome new members and volunteers
- Communicate clearly about activities and expectations
- Delegate tasks and encourage teamwork
- Take responsibility for health and safety throughout sessions
- Carry out basic risk assessments and respond to incidents or concerns
- Follow lone‑working procedures when needed
- Act as the central point of contact for volunteers, members, and staff
- Handle small cash fees (where needed)
- Prepare light refreshments
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of all group users
- Follow the organisation’s safeguarding procedures
- Build positive, respectful relationships while maintaining boundaries
- Respond appropriately to disclosures or safeguarding concerns
- Report concerns promptly to the safeguarding lead
- Attend safeguarding training as required

- Full induction and ongoing support
- Training in safeguarding, health & safety, and lone working
- Guidance from our Wellbeing Team whenever you need it

As a Volunteer Group Leader, you will:
Lead and run engaging group sessions
Support volunteers and group members

Help ensure sessions are inclusive, enjoyable, and well‑organised
- Uphold health, safety, and safeguarding standards
Your presence and leadership will help keep the group meaningful, vibrant, and supportive for everyone who attends..
