The role in a nutshell:

Seeking warm, confident volunteer to lead social groups, create welcoming spaces, support others, and bring people together through inclusive activities.

What will you be doing?

As a Volunteer Group Leader, you will:

  • Plan and run fun, engaging group activities

  •  Lead and support a small team of volunteers
  • Welcome new members and help everyone feel included
  • Communicate clearly about session plans and expectations
  • Encourage teamwork and share tasks with volunteers
  • Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are followed
  • Carry out simple risk assessments and respond to any concerns
  • Follow lone working procedures when required
  • Act as the link between volunteers, group users, and staff
  • Collect small cash fees if required
  •  Prepare light refreshments for group members

     

    Safeguarding – Keeping Everyone Safe

  • You will help create a secure and respectful environment by:

     

  • Following safeguarding procedures
  • Maintaining professional boundaries
  • Responding appropriately to any concerns or disclosures
  • Reporting issues promptly to the safeguarding lead

     

How would you be supported in this role?

You’ll never be on your own—we provide:

  • A full induction and ongoing support

  • Training in health and safety, safeguarding, and lone working

  • Guidance from our Wellbeing Team whenever you need it

  • Attending safeguarding training as needed
